Boyfriend allegedly shoots pregnant teen after bringing flowers

A 17-year-old pregnant girl from Arizona was fatally shot in the head early Saturday morning in San Diego by her 21-year-old boyfriend, who had arrived with flowers, police said. The victim was visiting the city with family when the incident occurred at a short-term rental.

Jariah Edwards was staying in the 4900 block of Gardena Avenue when Trevon Williams showed up unannounced around 1:10 a.m. and asked her to come outside. San Diego police reported that Williams shot her before fleeing on foot to a nearby canyon, where officers arrested him about two hours later and recovered a semiautomatic handgun.
