A 33-year-old Miami man has been arrested on multiple charges including attempted murder following an alleged domestic incident at his apartment. Erick LaPlante faces accusations of placing a gun in his girlfriend's mouth and firing a shot near her during a confrontation on Tuesday.

According to authorities, the incident occurred at an apartment in the 1100 block of NE 215th Street in Miami. LaPlante allegedly entered the room where his girlfriend was napping with their infant daughter and grabbed her phone. He then allegedly jammed a gun barrel into her mouth, demanded she unlock the device, and later confronted her about messages he found.
