BTN stages Jakarta International Marathon 2026 with 45,000 runners

PT Bank Tabungan Negara successfully staged the BTN Jakarta International Marathon on 13-14 June 2026. More than 45,000 participants from Indonesia and abroad joined the event.

The event ran over two days, with the Marathon 42K and Half Marathon 21K categories held on the second day. A total of 1,012 international runners participated, making it one of the marathons with the largest foreign participation in Indonesia.

Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno flagged off the start together with Minister of Youth and Sports Erick Thohir and BTN President Director Nixon LP Napitupulu. Rano Karno expressed appreciation to Jakarta residents as the event proceeded safely and smoothly.

Minister Erick Thohir highlighted the positive impact on sport tourism and the national sports industry. Danantara Indonesia COO Dony Oskaria hoped the event would grow into a major marathon in the future. The high number of participants boosted hotel occupancy in the Sudirman, Senayan, and Thamrin areas.
