A DNA test carried out by the Servicio Médico Legal confirmed that the woman living in Mar del Plata, Argentina, is Bernarda Rosalba Vera Contardo, who had been listed as forcibly disappeared since 1973.
Visiting minister Álvaro Mesa Latorre informed the family of the result on July 27, 2026. The report established an identification probability above 99.9999 percent.
