Egypt and Mauritania explored opportunities to deepen bilateral healthcare cooperation during a meeting between Egypt's Health Minister and Mauritania's Ambassador. Discussions focused on medical training, pharmaceuticals and medical tourism.
Egypt's Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met Mauritania's Ambassador to Egypt El Houssein Ould Sidi Abdallah. The talks reviewed existing cooperation programmes and explored expansion in professional training, skills development and specialised consultancy services. Abdel Ghaffar reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to expertise exchange, capacity building and technical support. He directed officials to organise a Mauritanian delegation visit to the Arab Company for Drug Industries and Medical Appliances to view pharmaceutical manufacturing capabilities. The sides also discussed preventive healthcare, medical tourism and the possible deployment of Egyptian cardiologists to Mauritanian hospitals. The ambassador expressed appreciation for Egypt's ongoing support.
