Four young men have been detained on suspicion of murder and attempted murder after a knife fight at the Hawaii beach in Stenungsund. A man in his twenties died and another was injured during the night to Thursday last week.
According to prosecutor Sonja Seligmann the conflict began with an argument on social media earlier in the week. It then escalated in an unpredictable way and those involved decided to meet at the beach.
SVT reports that the fight may have started in a group chat about the football World Cup. Between 10 and 20 people were gathered at the site when the violence broke out. The prosecutor states that the suspects acted together.
Two more people from Göteborg are wanted and detained in absentia. All suspects are charged with murder and attempted murder on probable cause. One of the detained has a prior conviction for robbery.
