The Arsenal and Brazil defender said he has overcome the frustration of the Champions League final and is focused on the World Cup.
Gabriel Magalhães, 28, said he has no complaints after his season with Arsenal, where the team won the English Championship after 22 years. He missed the penalty that decided the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain on May 30.
"I have nothing to complain about," the player stated. "I had a very good season with Arsenal, we won the title after 22 years. I am very happy about that. About the Champions League final, only the one who takes the penalty faces the consequences. I am happy to be with the national team, representing my country. Clear head."
The defender also praised Marquinhos of PSG, who consoled him after the penalty. They are now defensive partners for the Brazilian national team. Magalhães is being spared from some training sessions to manage his workload after 55 games in the 2025/26 season.
Brazil faces Haiti on Friday (19) in Philadelphia for the 2026 World Cup. Gabriel stressed the importance of not conceding goals and said the group talks daily about defense.
