George Russell topped FP3 for the Formula 1 Barcelona Grand Prix, finishing two tenths ahead of Oscar Piastri. Charles Leclerc placed third in a closely contested session. Kimi Antonelli encountered issues that left him seventh.
Russell set the fastest time of 1m15.679s for Mercedes during the one-hour session held in 32C heat. Piastri followed in his McLaren with a lap 0.214s slower, while Leclerc was 0.243s off the pace in the Ferrari.
Lando Norris ended fourth for McLaren and Lewis Hamilton fifth for Ferrari. Max Verstappen placed sixth for Red Bull. The session featured a red flag after Valtteri Bottas spun into the gravel at Turn 10, reporting that he had lost his brake pedal.
Antonelli struggled late in the session for Mercedes, aborting two laps due to traffic and going wide at Turn 10. He settled for seventh with a time set earlier. Isack Hadjar, Nico Hulkenberg and Arvid Lindblad completed the top 10.
