The German government's Security Council decided to establish a security institute for Artificial Intelligence. The institute will pool capacities to analyze modern AI models and their risks. It will exchange with foreign institutes and work toward uniform standards with international partners. Until now the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) handled these tasks. In addition the Security Council will review the Sicherstellungs- und Vorsorgegesetze to adapt supply in crisis situations. The council led by Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU) first met in early November.
