The government approved two offshore wind power parks on July 16. One decision concerns a park off Grebbestad in Tanum municipality.
The government decided to approve an offshore wind power park off Grebbestad. The decision met both support and criticism among locals, visitors and local politicians.
Several residents highlighted the need for more renewable electricity production. Others expressed concern about how the establishment could affect the sensitive archipelago environment and fishing along the Bohus coast.
The Social Democrats and Moderates in Tanum municipality criticized the decision. Hans Schub (M) said: "It is about how our coastal communities will look if we lose our professional fishing."
