Greg Mottola is emerging as a leading candidate to helm an untitled Deathstroke and Bane film at DC Studios. The project remains in early development with no script completed yet. Mottola previously directed episodes of the DC series Peacemaker.
Sources indicate that Mottola, known for comedies such as Superbad and Adventureland, is one of several directors in consideration for the feature. The project first surfaced publicly in September 2024 under the leadership of James Gunn and Peter Safran at DC Studios. An initial screenplay draft was written by Matthew Orton, who contributed to the Marvel series Moon Knight.
