Honda launches dirt versus street custom build-off

Honda has revived its Wheels and Waves custom motorcycle competition for a seventh year with a new dirt versus street theme. Ten European builders are customizing either the Transalp adventure bike or the CB750 Hornet naked street bike.

The annual festival takes place in Biarritz, France, and combines surfing, skating, BMX, and motorcycles. Five builders work on each model this year.

Public voting runs online at Hondacustoms.com through August 31. The original designers, Valerio Aiello for the Transalp and Giovanni Dovis for the CB750 Hornet, will also evaluate the entries.

The custom motorcycles were shown at the Biarritz event last weekend. More than 30,000 people voted in last year’s competition.
