IGAD member states urged to boost cross-border cyber security cooperation

IGAD member countries must work together to prevent and respond to cross-border cyber security threats.

IGAD organized the regional cyber security exercise training in cooperation with the Information Network Security Administration. The event is taking place in Addis Ababa.

Representatives from Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, Sudan, South Sudan, Somalia and Djibouti attended the program. Ethiopia's IGAD focal person Abebaw Bihonegn said modern preparation is needed to prevent cyber security threats in advance.

Information Network Security Administration Director General Tigest Hamid explained that work is underway in Ethiopia to prevent cyber security threats and provide rapid response.
