IGC expands operations in Egypt with power line project

Intelligent Globe Construction has signed an agreement to build a 500 kV transmission line in Egypt. The project supports renewable energy integration into the national grid. It coincides with the opening of the company’s new Cairo headquarters.

Intelligent Globe Construction, the engineering and construction arm of Intelligent Group, signed the agreement with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company. The deal covers Lot 2 of the line running 61.6 kilometres from Orascom Substation to El Hawamdeya Substation.

The line will carry power from wind projects in the Gulf of Suez. A consortium of IGC Egypt and IGC UAE will handle engineering, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning.

Mona Rizk, Chairperson of EETC, and Mostafa Nabil El Geziry, Chief Executive Officer of Intelligent Group, signed the agreement. Mohamed Amara, Chairperson of Intelligent Group, said the partnership marks a significant milestone in the company’s expansion in Egypt.

The signing took place alongside the inauguration of IGC’s new regional headquarters in Cairo. The company was founded in 2007 and focuses on infrastructure and energy projects in Egypt and the UAE.
