Kejagung to hand over seized assets of Harvey Moeis and Sandra Dewi to BPA

The Attorney General's Office will hand over seized assets from Harvey Moeis and Sandra Dewi to the Asset Recovery Agency for auction. The assets are linked to the tin corruption case involving the couple. This follows Sandra Dewi's withdrawal of her objection lawsuit.

The Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) plans to hand over seized assets from convicted individuals in the alleged tin corruption case, Harvey Moeis and his wife Sandra Dewi, to the Kejagung's Asset Recovery Agency (BPA) for immediate auction. This statement was made by the Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) of Kejagung, Anang Supriatna, in Jakarta on Monday.

"Assets that have been seized and have legal force are confiscated for the state and counted as replacement money, will be handed over by the executor JPU team to the BPA," Anang said. After handover, the BPA will appraise the value of the assets before auctioning them.

Previously, Sandra Dewi withdrew her objection lawsuit against the seizure of her assets related to the corruption case in the management of tin commodity trading in the mining business license (IUP) area of PT Timah from 2015 to 2022. The Panel of Judges at the Central Jakarta District Court accepted and granted the withdrawal request, ending the trial.

The assets involved include jewelry, two condominium units in Gading Serpong, Tangerang, Banten; a house in the Pakubuwono housing complex, Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta; a house in Permata Regency, Jakarta; blocked bank savings; and several bags. Sandra Dewi claimed to be a good-faith third party, with assets obtained legally through endorsements, advertisements, personal purchases, gifts, unrelated to corruption, and a prenuptial separation of assets agreement.

The Supreme Court has rejected Harvey Moeis's cassation appeal, who acted as an extension of PT Refined Bangka Tin (RBT) in this case, upholding the 20-year prison sentence. Currently, Harvey Moeis is serving his sentence at Cibinong Prison, Bogor Regency, West Java.
