Former football coach Jürgen Klopp expressed his enthusiasm for the movie hit 'Das Kanu des Manitu' at the German Football Culture Prize gala in Nuremberg. The 58-year-old was awarded the Walther-Bensemann Prize and raved about the sequel to the 2001 cult film. He plans to watch it again, as he laughed through the first 25 minutes without understanding what was said.

At the German Football Culture Prize gala in Nuremberg on Friday evening, Jürgen Klopp was honored with the Walther-Bensemann Prize. The former coach of Mainz, Dortmund, and Liverpool, now working as football boss for the Red Bull group, raved when moderator Katrin Müller-Hohenstein asked about his recent cinema visits.

Klopp revealed himself as a big fan of the movie 'Das Kanu des Manitu', the sequel to the 2001 surprise hit 'Der Schuh des Manitu'. «Outstanding, they managed it again», he said about the team around director Michael Bully Herbig. Grinning, he added: «I have to go again, I laughed through the first 25 minutes, I don't even know what they said.»

The film, in which Abahachi (Michael Herbig) and Ranger (Christian Tramitz) celebrate their 25th blood brotherhood anniversary, has already attracted more than four million cinema visitors this year. The heroes get into Wild West troubles and search for a legendary canoe with magical powers.

Klopp, known as a cult coach, shared his enthusiasm for this cult movie hit, lightening up the event and highlighting his passions beyond football.
