A Michigan judge has issued a temporary restraining order against prediction market platform Kalshi, barring it from offering sports-related wagers to state residents for 14 days.
The order, granted on June 30, prevents Kalshi from allowing residents to place sports bets. It marks the second US state to impose a court-ordered restriction on the platform.
The ruling follows similar legal action in Massachusetts, where the attorney general is pursuing an amended complaint against Kalshi over sports betting activities.
Kalshi offers prediction markets on various events, including sports outcomes in some jurisdictions. The Michigan blackout is set to last for the next two weeks.
