Ramello Robinson-Parks faces first-degree murder charges in the death of his former girlfriend, Elaysha Gilliam, whose body was discovered in a Kansas City field in 2024. Authorities say he bound her with zip ties and duct tape before shooting her multiple times.
Robinson-Parks, 31, was arrested on May 16, 2026, and charged with first-degree murder, armed criminal action, and unlawful possession of a firearm by the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office. Gilliam, 26, was found on February 19, 2024, in an overgrown vacant lot near Oakley Avenue and East 36th Terrace. Her body showed signs of trauma, including zip ties on her hands and feet, duct tape around her head and mouth, and multiple gunshot wounds.
A homeless couple reported hearing screams and gunshots two nights earlier. Investigators linked Robinson-Parks to the scene through DNA found on a latex glove fragment in Gilliam's hair. The couple had dated for about seven years and had recently traveled together to Las Vegas before the killing.
Robinson-Parks is currently in federal custody on a separate matter and will be transferred to Jackson County. His bond is set at $100,000 cash only. He has a prior conviction for involuntary second-degree manslaughter in Missouri.
