New accuser says Platner knew Nazi tattoo meaning

A former girlfriend of Maine Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner accused him of understanding the Nazi origins of his tattoo during their 2021 relationship. The woman, who described herself as a left-wing streamer, shared details with the New York Post and posted supporting messages on X.

The unidentified woman said she dated Platner from February to mid-July 2021 while he was engaged. She stated that she asked him if the tattoo was a Totenkopf and that he responded with a story about keeping it as a reminder that “the United States was the evil, bad guy overseas.”

The New York Post reported it verified parts of the account through text messages sent to her mother in September 2025 and social media posts published on June 10 and June 11, 2026. In the posts, she wrote that Platner “knew about the fucking tattoo” and shared earlier messages referring to the “Nazi tattoo on his chest.”

Maine Democrats selected Platner on Tuesday to challenge Republican Sen. Susan Collins. Platner’s campaign said he chose the tattoo in Croatia to commemorate surviving Ramadi and has since covered it up.
