Niclas Andersén in talks for Strömsbro head coach role

Niclas Andersén is reported to be in discussions to become the new head coach of Hockeyettan club Strömsbro. The former Brynäs defenseman, who won an SM gold in 2012, has drawn interest from the club ahead of next season.

Strömsbro is rebuilding its roster and is now also considering a coaching change. Andersén spent his early SHL career with Brynäs from 2007 to 2012 before playing in the KHL, AHL and Switzerland. Sportchef Johan Wennberg confirmed the club's interest in the experienced defenseman. “Vi har ett par namn som vi har diskuterat. Han är ett namn av några till. Det vore såklart jätteroligt att få in en sådan etablerad person. Förhoppningsvis ska vi ha tränare på plats inom en vecka,” Wennberg told GD. The club aims to finalize a coaching appointment soon, according to Wennberg.
