Ohio woman charged after gun incident and arson attempt

Crystal Foster, 47, faces multiple charges after allegedly firing a gun and setting curtains ablaze inside a home in Wayne Township, Ohio. Authorities say the events occurred during a prolonged argument on Monday afternoon.

Deputies responded to a 911 call from the 5900 block of Newtonsville Road around 4:15 p.m. on Monday. They found that Foster had fired a weapon inside the residence and had intentionally set the home's curtains on fire, though the blaze was quickly extinguished with no injuries reported.

Foster told investigators she had been drinking and shot the gun to prove a point during the daylong dispute. She also indicated uncertainty about her reason for lighting the curtains but admitted to consuming alcohol throughout the day.

Foster has been charged with first-degree aggravated arson along with two misdemeanor counts of first-degree aggravated menacing and first-degree using weapons while intoxicated. She remains held without bail in the Clermont County Jail.

The defendant was scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday morning.
