Parmigiani Fleurier releases Tonda PF Chronographe Mystérieux

Parmigiani Fleurier has launched the Tonda PF Chronographe Mystérieux, a new chronograph watch featuring innovative invisible mechanics. The 40mm stainless steel timepiece hides its chronograph functions behind a simple three-hand dial until activated. Priced at CHF 36,900, it showcases the brand's signature subtle complexity.

The Tonda PF Chronographe Mystérieux measures 40mm in diameter with a stainless steel case topped by a 950 platinum ridged bezel. It offers 100m water resistance thanks to a screw-down crown and maintains a wearable 13mm thickness despite the chronograph complication. The mineral blue dial features a Grain d’Orge hand-guilloché finish, accented by hand-applied rhodium-plated 18K gold indexes and logo, giving it an elegant, understated appearance akin to simpler Tonda PF models. A single pusher at the 7:30 position activates the chronograph. Upon pressing, three 18K gold rhodium-plated hands fly back to 12 o’clock: the hour hand tracks 12-hour elapsed time, the minute hand measures minutes, and the seconds hand counts seconds. Meanwhile, separate 18K gold hands emerge to display the current time. Pressing the pusher again freezes the chronograph for reading, with timekeeping hands still visible. A third press resets everything seamlessly, without sub-dials or additional pushers. This mechanism highlights Parmigiani Fleurier's approach to 'invisible complexity.' Powering the watch is the new automatic PF053 caliber, with 41 jewels, a 28,800 vibrations per hour beat rate, and 60-hour power reserve. It includes a decorated 22K rose gold rotor and finishes like perlage and anglage on skeletonized bridges, viewable through a sapphire caseback. The release continues the Tonda PF line's reputation for fluid, complication-integrated designs.
