Paul McCartney pulled up beside a tour bus in Liverpool this week and shared a FaceTime call with Ringo Starr with the passengers.
The encounter happened while the bus waited at a red light during Liverpool’s Magical Mystery Tour. Tour guide Neil Morton described the moment as surreal and said the passengers could not believe it.
McCartney leaned out of his car window to show the group that he was on the call with his former bandmate. Starr later posted a photo of the incident on Instagram with the caption “How about that for a Magical Mystery Tour in Liverpool? Peace and Love, Ringo.”
The tour, which is the longest-running Beatles sightseeing experience in the U.K., earned the top spot in Tripadvisor’s 2026 Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best Things to Do Awards earlier this year. McCartney and Starr released their first duet, “Home to Us,” in May on McCartney’s album The Boys of Dungeon Lane.
