Phasmophobia delays full 1.0 launch until 2027

Kinetic Games has pushed back the release of Phasmophobia's 1.0 version to 2027. The studio cited the need to prioritise quality following recent player feedback on updates.

The horror game, which entered early access in 2020, will now arrive in its complete form next year. A reworked Willow Street map is still set for 21 July as a free update, along with improved player models and new lore elements.

Kinetic Games also confirmed two major quality-of-life patches and a move to Unity 6. The Edgefield map rework is planned for December, while seasonal events such as Crimson Eye will return.

CEO Dan Knight said the extra time will allow the team to add more content and refine features. He thanked the community for supporting the studio's growth to over 50 people.

Last month the developer apologised for problems with its Player Character Update and issued patches to address complaints.
