Major Héctor Silva, commander of the Pitalito Police Station, confirmed the detainees have multiple records in the Sistema Penal Oral Acusatorio (SPOA). Offenses include conspiracy to commit crimes, qualified theft, manufacturing, trafficking and illegal possession of firearms, simple kidnapping, and prison escape.

“They are recognized criminal actors… their capture neutralized a possible criminal act and prevented harm to life,” Major Silva stated. The timely intervention safeguarded residents' safety and property.
