Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed told the House of People's Representatives that opposition members who pursue peaceful struggle are heroes and that Ethiopians must work together until prosperity is secured.
The Prime Minister responded to questions from members at the 30th regular meeting of the House of People's Representatives on June 30, 2018 in the Ethiopian calendar.
He thanked members for their contributions over the past five years and noted their role in advancing Ethiopian democracy. He added that opposition parties must collaborate not only in parliament but in other fields as well.
Prime Minister Abiy said government officials, politicians and religious leaders should be used to release prisoners, pardon those abroad and those in forests, stressing that hearts must be wide.
He stated that nothing outside peace benefits the country and that prosperity and development are needed. He called on the entire Ethiopian people to stand together and help.
