The Los Angeles Rams acquired reigning Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns on June 1. In a separate deal the same day, the Philadelphia Eagles traded wide receiver A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots.
The Rams sent defensive end Jared Verse and three draft picks, including a first-round selection, to Cleveland in exchange for Garrett. The move keeps the Rams in a Super Bowl push despite surrendering premium assets. The Eagles received a 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fifth-rounder for Brown. Analysts noted the compensation fell short of recent wide-receiver deals such as the 2022 Davante Adams trade. Both transactions occurred on June 1, a busy day for NFL roster moves ahead of the 2026 season.
