Red Bull struggled with car balance during Friday practice at the Hungaroring for the 2026 Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix. Technical director Pierre Wache said the team is clearly too slow and has significant work ahead.
Max Verstappen finished nearly seven tenths of a second behind pacesetter Lewis Hamilton in FP2. Teammate Isack Hadjar trailed by more than a second.
Wache noted low grip and track bumps affected the RB22. He added that issues with the seat and downshifting require fixes before Saturday.
Ferrari emerged as the benchmark this weekend according to Wache. The revised McLaren rear wing performed as intended with no issues reported.
Hadjar described conditions as tricky and bumpy. He said long run pace looked promising despite one lap deficits.
