Richard Goodall signs movie deal for his life story

Richard Goodall, the "singing janitor" who won America's Got Talent and its $1 million prize, has signed a deal to turn his life story into a feature film.

Goodall, 55, worked 23 years as a janitor at a middle school in Terre Haute, Indiana. He flew for the first time to audition in Los Angeles, where he performed "Don’t Stop Believin'" and advanced on the show.

The film is being produced by Everard Entertainment’s Ben Everard and Mad Chance’s Andrew Lazar. Everard called the project an honor, saying Goodall’s journey represents the American Dream. Lazar noted the story of never giving up on dreams will resonate with audiences worldwide.

The script was written by Chris Parizo. Goodall was first noticed by judge Howie Mandel after a viral video of him singing at his school.
