PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) has warned the public about a scam impersonating its Mekaar financing program in digital form. Fraudsters use fake social media accounts to offer easy loans without official procedures. PNM emphasizes that its services do not provide online financing.
The proliferation of unofficial online loan apps and financial service misinformation has raised new concerns. Recently, misleading information has circulated impersonating PNM's Membina Ekonomi Keluarga Sejahtera (Mekaar) financing program. Through fake social media accounts, irresponsible parties offer digital Mekaar disbursements with promises of easy and quick processes, similar to online loans.
These accounts exploit videos of PNM Mekaar employees to build trust, while promoting loan schemes that violate regulations, such as online applications without home or business surveys, and claims of no interest for new customers. This narrative is considered dangerous as it targets people in need of financing.
PNM Corporate Secretary L Dodot Patria Ary affirmed that PNM Mekaar has no online financing services. "All official processes are conducted face-to-face through group meetings and direct assistance by Account Officers (AO)," he stated.
He urged the public to be cautious with social media information. "To date, PNM has never provided online loan services, does not request personal data uploads via apps, and does not collect any fees outside official provisions. We hope the public is more careful and immediately reports any parties claiming to be PNM Mekaar digital services," Dodot emphasized, quoted Sunday, November 16, 2025.
This scam modus could cause significant harm, especially to prospective customers from underprivileged families in cities to remote villages. PNM has no digital services yet and encourages verification via the official website www.pnm.co.id. Report suspicions through Facebook PTPNMOfficial, Instagram @PNM_Persero, or TikTok @lifeatpnm. PNM also educates on choosing OJK-licensed services and provides a Call Center at 1500-165.
