Seven sentenced for organized drug trade in Dalarna

Falu District Court has sentenced seven people for involvement in organized drug trafficking. A man in his thirties from southern Sweden is viewed as the leader and receives over four years in prison plus deportation.

The investigation began when police stopped a car in Smedjebacken last summer. Cannabis and cocaine were found in the vehicle. This led to an apartment in Borlänge where secret wiretapping was used to arrest those involved.

Searches yielded over 31 kilos of cannabis resin, 693 grams of cocaine and nearly 200 tablets. At another address over 100 000 kronor in cash was found. The leader delegated tasks via social media under various names.

Most denied the crimes but were still convicted. Sentences range from four years and three months in prison with deportation to conditional sentences and community service. The verdict can be appealed to Svea Court of Appeal until 2 July.
