SJ must pay a 1.3 million kronor fine following a decision by Trafikverket. The penalty covers shortcomings on night trains between Stockholm and Duved during the first quarter of the year.
Trafikverket decided on the fine due to several shortcomings in the service. These include delays in departures and arrivals as well as problems with temperature control and ventilation in the carriages.
The largest part of the fine, one million kronor, relates to 219 broken toilets and showers. The total fine amounts to 1.3 million kronor.
SJ operates the service on behalf of Trafikverket. The fine is deducted from compensation for traffic operated in June. The company has previously received similar fines for shortcomings on the same route.
