Smashing Pumpkins record first song with Butch Vig in 33 years

Billy Corgan announced that Smashing Pumpkins have recorded a new song with producer Butch Vig for the first time since the 1993 Siamese Dream sessions.

Billy Corgan made the announcement during a live session on his Substack on May 19. He appeared alongside his 10-year-old son Augustus Juppiter and described the track as nearly complete. “We’ve just recorded one song,” Corgan said. “It’s for a specific purpose, which I can’t give that part out … The plan is the song will be released this year. I can’t say exactly when.”
