Staud launches first home collection with ceramics and leather

Los Angeles-based fashion label Staud has entered the home goods market with its inaugural collection of ceramics, leather items, and textiles. The launch marks a decade in business for founders Sarah Staudinger and George Augusto. Items are available at Staud stores and online, priced from $75 to $2500.

Staud Home debuted on April 7, featuring pieces like crinkled ceramic wall art, leather vases, bookends, placemats, and coasters with irregular shapes. Staudinger described the collection as treating living spaces like an ever-evolving canvas. 'Nothing in your home or in fashion should feel too perfect,' she said. 'It’s boring and lacks personality.' The colors draw from the brand's handbag palettes, with neutrals and occasional pops, designed to fit various homes easily. Catch-all trays and leather buckets echo Staud's bag designs, inspired by how accessories enhance rooms. Practical inspirations include flea market finds, such as a sheep sculpture that influenced a ceramic sheep vase motif. Staudinger noted her husband's role in spotting it, transforming a $50 purchase into a room-changer reminiscent of François-Xavier Lalanne's work. A signature scent, Serre, developed in her greenhouse, appears in candles. The collection introduces 'Henry,' a subtle ceramic face with ears and a smile, evoking quiet joy. Staudinger created it in her home studio for the Melrose Avenue flagship, calling it the Staud take on a happy face. The brand, known for eclectic style blending classics and statements, has expanded into sportswear, denim, and collaborations with New Balance, Birkenstocks, Keds, and St. Regis Hotels.
