A first look at the upcoming AMC+ series Yaga debuted during a San Diego Comic-Con panel. The eight-episode thriller stars Carrie-Anne Moss and Hudson Williams.
The teaser trailer for Yaga was released on July 25 during the show's San Diego Comic-Con panel. In the clip, Carrie-Anne Moss's character Katherine describes the legend of Baba Yaga, noting variations of the figure across cultures and her roles as witch, enchantress, or killer.
The series follows private investigator Rapp, played by Noah Reid, as he probes the disappearance of fishery heir Henry, portrayed by Hudson Williams. Moss plays a charismatic university professor with a taste for young men, while Clark Backo appears as detective Carson.
Yaga is based on a play by Kat Sandler, who serves as showrunner. The cast also includes Megan Follows, Hiro Kanagawa, Sheila McCarthy, and Katharine Isabelle. The eight half-hour episodes will begin streaming exclusively on AMC+ in October.
