Tesla has added unsupervised Robotaxi rides in Orlando and Tampa, Florida, expanding its driverless network to seven regions. The service uses Model Y vehicles and launched without safety drivers in the new markets.
Tesla announced the expansion on July 21, 2026, through its @robotaxi account with the message “Robotaxi now in Tampa & Orlando!” The move followed the Miami launch by 18 days and brought the total operating areas to seven.
The new cities join Miami, Dallas, and Houston for fully unsupervised operations. Austin uses a hybrid model with some monitored vehicles, while the Bay Area remains limited to supervised testing.
Community reports confirmed the first unsupervised Model Y rides began in both Tampa and Orlando on July 20. Ashok Elluswamy verified that Florida operations run without anyone in the cabin.
Tesla plans to introduce its purpose-built Cybercab vehicle later as part of the network rollout.
