Trick Williams to defend US Title against Baron Corbin at SummerSlam

WWE has announced that United States Champion Trick Williams will defend his title against Baron Corbin at SummerSlam next weekend.

The match stems from an attack on Williams after Friday's SmackDown went off the air. Corbin ambushed the champion following a fatal four-way main event won by Finn Balor.

Williams issued a direct challenge to Corbin, saying, "Prove to me that you ain't scared. Prove to me that you don't belong in retirement. Prove to me that you ain't a b****, and fight me one-on-one at SummerSlam."

Triple H confirmed the bout on social media, writing, "One champion in his glory. One man looking to return to it. Trick Williams defends the US Title against Baron Corbin at #SummerSlam!"

SummerSlam is scheduled for August 1-2 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Williams won the title from Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 42.
