Undersecretary Paula Estévez traveled to Morocco to advance a possible trade agreement and meet with local authorities.
Undersecretary for International Economic Relations Paula Estévez began a tour of Morocco on Tuesday to deepen trade relations between the two countries. She met with Moroccan Secretary of State for Foreign Trade Omar Hejira and signed a joint declaration that reinforces dialogue and bilateral exchange. Estévez highlighted Morocco's potential as a partner, noting its emerging economy that complements Chile's and a population of nearly 40 million people. Trade between the nations grew from 10.4 million dollars in 2003 to 80.3 million in 2025, with an average annual rate of 31.5% in the last five years. The tour includes a business round organized by ProChile with Chilean exporting companies and actors from Africa, Europe and the Middle East. According to Estévez, this step seeks to diversify markets and open opportunities in emerging economies.
