David Mairena-Garcia allegedly entered his ex-girlfriend's home in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and attacked her and her new boyfriend with a machete early Monday morning. The 29-year-old suspect was arrested hours later and charged with multiple felonies, including attempted homicide. Both victims suffered serious injuries and were hospitalized.
Green Bay police responded to a report of an edged weapon attack at 5:15 a.m. on Monday. Officers found a 26-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man with serious injuries. The woman identified the attacker as her ex-boyfriend, David Mairena-Garcia, with whom she shares a child. She told police he entered using his own key and immediately began attacking without saying a word, striking the man in the shoulder, forearm and leg before beating her, causing head injuries and lacerations to her hand and neck. She also reported prior death threats from him by text and in person, according to the criminal complaint obtained by WLUK.
