Ehemaliger PlayStation-Chef plant Wiederbelebung von Double-A-Spielen

Der Manager sieht als zentrales Problem das unveränderte Publishing-Modell aus den 1990er Jahren. Diese Struktur begünstige Fortsetzungen und große Franchises, während sie originelle oder ungewöhnliche Projekte einschränke, die einst dazu beigetragen hätten, das Publikum zu erweitern, so Layden. Er verfolgt das Ziel, eine Publishing-Firma zu gründen, die sich auf Double-A-Titel von kleineren Teams konzentriert. Diese Spiele würden weniger Ressourcen erfordern und Spieler mit wenig Zeit ansprechen, die längere Produktionen oft nicht zu Ende spielen. Er beobachtet eine Marktsättigung bei Live-Service-Spielen und einen Trend hin zu Singleplayer-Titeln. Layden ergänzte, dass weniger als die Hälfte der Spieler die größten Neuerscheinungen von heute auch tatsächlich beenden.
