Erra releases music video for new single i. the many names of god

The progressive metalcore band Erra has unveiled a new music video for their single 'i. the many names of god,' the opening track of a trilogy from their upcoming album silence outlives the earth. The album is set for release on March 6, 2026, via UNFD. The band also announced a co-headlining North American tour with Currents starting the same day.

Erra, a Birmingham, Alabama-based progressive metalcore band formed in 2009, has released a music video for 'i. the many names of god.' This single serves as the first part of the closing trilogy on their forthcoming album silence outlives the earth, which also includes 'ii. in the gut of the wolf' and 'iii. twilight in the reflection of dreams.' The album, recorded and produced by Daniel Braunstein, explores themes of existential uncertainty, personal loss, and the state of the world, pushing the band's balance of aggression and atmosphere to new extremes.

Guitarist Jesse Cash commented on the track: "the many names of god is the first in what we consider the trilogy of silence outlives the earth. The trilogy represents a distinct shift in tone from the previous songs on the record. we wanted the aesthetic of the track listing to persuade the feeling of that shift. the record transitions to a darker place at this point, and the many names serves to take the heaviest moods expressed in the preceding tracks and visceralize them."

The single follows 'further eden,' which received praise from Revolver for its synth-glossed melodies, breakbeats, concrete-smashing breakdowns, and tense guitar riffs. Early coverage has come from outlets like Metal Injection, Lambgoat, and Alternative Press, highlighting Erra's evolution in modern metalcore.

Led by founding members Jesse Cash and Alex Ballew, alongside J.T. Cavey, Conor Hesse, and Clint Tustin, the band will support the album with a six-week North American co-headlining tour alongside Currents. The tour kicks off on March 6, 2026, at Nevermore in Baltimore, Maryland, with sold-out shows in cities including Chicago, New York, and Anaheim. Additional stops include Raleigh, Atlanta, Tampa, Nashville, and more, with many dates marked as low tickets. Pre-orders for silence outlives the earth are available now via UNFD.
