A preliminary decision by São Paulo justice has temporarily removed custody of lawyer Karina Kufa's 10-year-old son after her marriage to Thiago Brennand. Kufa said she will appeal the measure.
The ruling responds to a request by the child's father, Amilton Augusto da Silva Júnior. The boy was with the father and was to be returned to the mother on Wednesday, July 15.
Kufa and Brennand married in early July 2026. The marriage was registered at the notary in Potim, in the interior of São Paulo, where Brennand has been serving his sentence since 2023 for rape and assault.
The lawyer, known in Brasília for defending the Bolsonaro family, currently works on Brennand's criminal cases. She stated that she believes in justice and had planned a vacation trip with the children.
