After twelve years, the SM in snowmobile cross returns to Lima in Malung-Sälen. Former pro Adam Renheim, with six world championship golds and five national golds, is now organizing the event with Lima Motorsällskap. About 120 riders from across the country will compete on the 650-meter track.
Lima in Malung-Sälen municipality has a long tradition in snowmobile racing and has nurtured many talents over the years. For the first time since 2014, the SM series in snowmobile cross is being held here again. Adam Renheim, who himself has an impressive career with six world championship golds and five national golds, is now stepping in as an organizer rather than a rider.
Together with Lima Motorsällskap, he has prepared the track, which is 650 meters long and has been widened for the weekend's competitions. Registrations have poured in from across Sweden, with about 120 participants of all ages. The youngest riders, from five years old and up, get a shorter track, while the others compete on the full course.
"There are riders from five years and up, so we have a shorter section where the youngest will ride, then everyone rides on the same track," explains Adam Renheim. The event draws families and enthusiasts to the historic location, which has long been a hub for snowmobile fans.
