Huila mayors to present investment projects to De La Espriella

Six mayors from Huila and Governor Rodrigo Villalba will meet President-elect Abelardo De La Espriella on July 17 to submit initiatives on security, infrastructure and agroindustrial development.

The mayors of Neiva, Garzón, La Plata, Algeciras, Aipe and Pitalito will join Governor Rodrigo Villalba Mosquera at the Empalme Regional. Representatives from the northern, central, western and southern zones of the department will outline projects structured in phase three with technical and financial viability.

Requests from the south include construction of the Quinto Distrito de Policía, the Pitalito bypass and fertilizer and coffee processing plants. Pitalito Mayor Yider Luna said the projects aim to change security indicators and improve competitiveness in the coffee sector.

Neiva Mayor German Casagua will present initiatives that include a camera system with fiber optics for 26,000 million pesos, 11,000 million for police vehicles and 50,000 million for the second phase of the Guillermo Plazas Alcid stadium. Other requests cover a wastewater treatment plant, the malecón on the Magdalena River and canalization of the Las Ceibas River.
