Matías Tabar appeared before prosecutor Gerardo Pollicita on Friday and handed over invoices, delivery notes and chat screenshots regarding renovations at Manuel Adorni’s house in the Indio Cuá country club.
Tabar spontaneously expanded his statement in the alleged illicit enrichment case investigating the chief of staff. He confirmed the total renovation cost reached US$245,000, up from an initial budget of US$94,000 due to additional work.
The contractor reiterated that part of the payments were made in cash dollars, a common practice in the construction sector. His personal fees amounted to about US$20,000 and he acted as an intermediary between Adorni and those in charge of the project.
The justice system will now review the submitted documents to check if they match the official’s declared financial capacity. The case continues to generate political tension while the ruling party publicly supports Adorni.
