The Ministry of National Security activated Alerta Sofía to search for 6-year-old Santos Riquelme Nahua, abducted by his father after shooting a man in Esquina, Corrientes. The incident took place on Sunday, May 3, around 9:30 p.m. Authorities are urging public cooperation to find them.
The Ministry of National Security activated the Alerta Sofía protocol after the disappearance of 6-year-old Santos Riquelme Nahua, last seen on May 3 at 9:30 p.m. with his father, 29-year-old Josías Santos Regis, nicknamed “El Brasilero”.
The incident happened at a home on Pujol street at 1900, in Esquina's Manzini neighborhood, Corrientes. Regis arrived with the child to confront his ex-partner, the boy's mother. After an argument, he shot a 47-year-old man and fled with his son. The victim is recovering in a health center.
The boy has curly blond hair, light eyes, and fair skin. He wore cream-colored long pants, white sneakers, long-sleeved blue-and-white shirt, and brown inflatable jacket.
Corrientes Justice is investigating attempted homicide and child abduction, fearing for the boy's safety. Information should be reported to 134, 911, or nearest police stations.
