The BBC has signed an eight-year deal with the All-England Club to broadcast Wimbledon through 2033. The agreement keeps the tournament free to air on television for UK viewers.
The British Broadcasting Corporation announced the new agreement on June 25, 2026. It extends the broadcaster's longstanding partnership with the All-England Club for another eight years.
Alex Kay-Jelski, director of BBC Sport, said the deal allows the network to continue its coverage well into the next decade. The 2027 tournament will mark 100 years since the BBC first aired Wimbledon in 1927.
The announcement drew mixed reactions from viewers. Some welcomed the continued free-to-air access, while others noted that UK households must still pay the television licence fee, which rose to $237 in April 2026.
Last year the BBC's digital platforms recorded 69.3 million online requests for Wimbledon coverage, a record high.
