Defending champion Belgrano defeated Gimnasia de Jujuy on penalties after a 2-2 draw in the Copa Argentina round of 32, played on Saturday in Santiago del Estero.
The match ended level after regular time with goals from Francisco González Metilli and Emiliano Rigoni for Belgrano, and Martín Lazarte and Francisco Molina for Gimnasia de Jujuy. The penalty shootout favored the Córdoba side, which converted all its attempts while Octavio Bianchi and Abel Argañaraz missed for the opposition.
Lucas Zelarayán entered in the second half but had to be replaced minutes later due to temporal disorientation. The midfielder was substituted by Julián Mavilla in the 32nd minute of the second period.
Belgrano, debuting its champion title with this victory, advances to the round of 16 of the tournament. The game was played at Estadio Único Madre de Ciudades against the Jujuy team.
