The Chilean goalkeeper shone in the penalty shootout of the Torneo Apertura semifinal, but his teammates missed key shots and Argentinos Juniors fell to Belgrano de Córdoba.
Brayan Cortés, the former Colo Colo goalkeeper now with Argentinos Juniors, saved the first two penalties from Belgrano in the semifinal shootout. The match had ended level after Nicolás Fernández scored in the 90+4 minute and extra time produced no goals.
Cortés stopped shots from Lucas Zelarrayán and Franco Vásquez, yet Florentín hit the post and Enzo Pérez missed. Nicolás Hernández scored the decisive penalty for a 4-3 win for the visitors from Córdoba.
Argentinos Juniors are eliminated from the final, which will now pit River Plate against Belgrano. The tie recalled the historic relegation of the millionaires in 2011.
