Bob Dylan is adjusting his touring lineup following the departures of two longtime guitarists. Bob Britt has left the band, while Doug Lancio has been replaced onstage by Julian Lage.
Bob Britt, who joined Dylan’s band in 2019, reportedly quit after posting “Sayonara Bobby” and “I quit” on social media during a day off in Austin, Texas. The posts were later deleted. Dylan has not commented on the departure.
Doug Lancio, a member since 2021, was absent from the June 17 concert at the Santa Barbara Bowl. Jazz guitarist Julian Lage took his place, and has appeared at subsequent shows. A spokesperson for Dylan said there was “no word” on whether Lage would remain permanently.
The changes come during Dylan’s ongoing US tour, which continues June 29 at Moody Amphitheater in Austin before ending August 1 in Nashville. The tour has featured rare song performances and follows renewed interest in the singer from the film A Complete Unknown.
